St. Elizabeth’s Legacy: The Heart of Jamaica’s Flavor Revolution

St. Elizabeth’s Legacy: The Heart of Jamaica’s Flavor Revolution

St. Elizabeth is well known as the epicenter for Jamaican food production. The area has been nicknamed the “Bread Basket Parish” due to the large volume of ground provisions, root crops, fruits, vegetables, seasonings and spices that originate there. St. Elizabeth has also produced families with a multi-generational farming legacy. The rich soil and perfect climate make it ideal for producing flavorful, aromatic and hearty foods, and it is only fitting that this should be the birthplace of Thalia’s.

At Thalia’s we want to continue the rich legacy of producing natural, flavorful and delicious food products, but with added convenience for the modern, global consumer. Here, we have placed authentic, Jamaican spices like pimento and lemongrass into easy-to-use cooking oils so that persons anywhere they are in the world, can add authentic flavors of Jamaica to their meals.

We are excited to have you along on this flavorful journey as we build upon the legacy and rich food history of our home parish of St. Elizabeth.
